The “Genuine Prestige” campaign is initiated by the Business Software Alliance (BSA) and the Hong Kong Chamber of Small and Medium Business Ltd. (HKCSMB) , and supported by the Intellectual Property Department (IPD). The goal of this campaign is:
- to assist organisations in Hong Kong in creating a prestige reputation around the use of genuine software.
- to distinguish these organisations as honest and trust-worthy business partners.
- to show these organisations as reliable suppliers who respect the rights and innovation of others.
- to encourage organisations to operate their business in a risk free environment.
Participating organisations are required to commit to the use of original and fully licensed software. They are required to commit to the establishment of a Software Asset Management practice, institute organisational guidelines which commit to upholding intellectual property rights and enforce an organisational policy on the use of original and licensed software. Once an application is approved, the successful organisation will be authorized to use the campaign logo on their organisation collaterals to signify their commitment to the respect of intellectual property rights, and will be awarded a campaign certificate.
